Connect With Survivors

Patient Advocacy Council

The Center would like to ensure each prospective patient can learn about proton therapy from the patient point of view and have access to other patients if they have questions. The Patient Services team identifies these advocates on a regular basis from the patients that complete treatment at the Center. Past proton patients identified the council as an opportunity to “pay it forward.” This concept has inspired many local proton therapy patients to support building a “patient advocate council” to help build awareness of proton therapy in the Pacific Northwest. Prospective patients often like to speak to patients who have been through proton therapy treatment, both when they are making their decisions on treatment and during treatment. Over 15% of the patients who received proton therapy at other centers learned about proton therapy from a former patient or a family member.

If you would like to connect with survivors at the SCCA Proton Therapy Center, we can put you in touch with someone. Please call (206) 306-2028.

Private Facebook Page

As a proton therapy patient you will be invited to join our private Facebook page. This page is limited to our Patient Services Manager and current and former patients. This is a forum where patients share questions, info and accomplishments among themselves. Please ask our Patient Services Manager to invite you.

Public Facebook Page

Our Center also has a public Facebook page, where we share exciting news, updates and important information, cancer wellness facts, and inspiring stories. Check it out at www.facebook.com/SCCAProtonTherapy
