Our Center Supports Community Events

Our Center Supports Community Events

We love every opportunity to get out in the community and raise donations, awareness, and hope for cancer patients throughout our region. In September, we participated in two great events for a cause:

Run of Hope Seattle

This year we had a huge, enthusiastic team for the 10th Annual Run of Hope on September 23! More than 65 Proton Therapy Center employees and their families came together and donned their teal shirts and yellow hats for the cause.

The Run of Hope Seattle is a joint effort of the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund (PBTRF). Their mission is to raise money and awareness to advance pediatric brain tumor research. Together event participants have raised more than $710,000 for brain cancer research at Seattle Children’s.

Donations are still accepted through December! For more information, visit www.runofhopeseattle.org.

ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk

This year we were proud to sponsor the 2018 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk – Puget Sound! The festivities took place on Saturday, September 29 at Willis Tucker Park in Snohomish County. With a special superhero theme, the event consisted of a 5K run/walk, one-mile walk, Kids’ Superhero Dash for Dad, and a virtual Snooze for Dudes program.

Our team, Captain Proton and the Prostate Cancer Avengers, won the “Largest Team Award,” with an outstanding showing of patients! Special thanks to everyone who came out and joined us, we appreciate your participation. The event raised over $67,000.

Funds raised from ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk – Puget Sound are invested around the country to provide research for new treatments, free prostate cancer testing, and educating men and families about prostate cancer. To learn more, visit https://support.zerocancer.org
