Why did you decide to become an RTT?

I decided to become an RTT after shadowing my cousin, who is a current Radiation Therapist. I fell in love with the quality time spent with the patients and the relationships that are built.

How would you describe proton therapy to someone?

Proton therapy is a type of localized cancer treatment. Like the conventional form of radiation therapy, it is used to kill cancer cells. The cool thing about proton therapy is that. because of a characteristic of the beam known as the Bragg Peak, our care team can make a treatment plan that delivers a high dose of radiation to the treatment area, while allowing no exit dose, thereby sparing the surrounding healthy tissue.

What do you like to do for fun? What are your hobbies?

I love to play any type of sport for fun. I also love to shop, watch Netflix, and spend time at the lake. riding boats and jet skis with my family and friends.

Can you share a favorite recipe?

I’d have to say my favorite recipe is my mom’s seafood lasagna. I’m honestly not sure how she makes it, it might be a secret.. but it is AMAZING.

What’s your favorite quote and why?

My favorite quote is “Make each day your masterpiece,” by John Wooden. I love this quote because each and every day is a new day to get up and to achieve anything you want. If you stay positive and believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to! Make the most out of each day and build your dream, because you are in control.
