How would you describe the Center to someone?

This place is amazing and gorgeous! The environment is calming and the people who work here are so gentle. It’s something you notice immediately!

What brought you to work in healthcare?

I’ve always wanted to be part of the change in people’s lives. Here, I can contribute to that.

Tell us something surprising about you.

When I was young I wanted to study astrophysics. My dad used to take my siblings and me to watch astronomical events in the mountains. That’s how I began to love it, but there weren’t many options to study astrophysics in Costa Rica. So, I decided to study something that I could use to help people, in my case International Relations and Affairs.

Can you share a favorite vacation destination?

I love vacationing in Costa Rica. My favorite place there is Braulio Carrillo National Park. The park is in the cloud forest, and it’s so green with beautiful tall trees and infinite mountains. The air is fresh and the water is so cold and clean. On the trails you find a diversity of animals, like snakes, birds, tapirs… To encounter them is quite an experience. The park has a special silence that I love.

What is your favorite quote and why?

Here is a piece of a song that I love: “I did it all, I owned every second that this world could give, I saw many places, the things I did with every broken bone, I swear I lived.” I think the lyrics reflect life, and sometimes we need to remember our own achievements.
