Celebrating Graduates for Cancer Survivor Month

Celebrating Graduates for Cancer Survivor Month

June marks Cancer Survivor Month, which is a great opportunity to highlight our graduates.

Patient graduation is a special time at the center. During the weekly ceremony, we acknowledge individual patients for their treatment journey and completion. Though there are no caps and gowns, each patient receives a diploma and a special coin engraved with their unique graduation number. The coin is a badge of honor to symbolize a patient’s journey through cancer and their road to recovery.

Physicians and Care Team members attend the ceremony whenever possible, and patients invite their family and close friends to be a part of it. During the ceremony, a center representative shares the tradition of the challenge coin and explains the significance of our center’s coin. Patients are called up and offered the chance to speak. Our concierge team often will share stories about each patient they have come to know.

We would like to take a moment and recognize recent graduates of SCCA Proton Therapy Center.
