Center Sponsors Survivors Celebration Breakfast

Center Sponsors Survivors Celebration Breakfast

This year Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Proton Therapy Center was thrilled to sponsor the fifth Prostate Cancer Survivors Celebration Breakfast, an event to bring community together to find a cure for prostate cancer. SCCA Proton Therapy Center and the Survivors Celebration Breakfast share a mutual passion for raising awareness for prostate cancer and the need to find a cure.  Center staff and patients in attendance were inspired by the stories of courage from men who have overcome prostate cancer. The speakers included Major General William Anders, a former astronaut with the Apollo 8 mission.

The beneficiary of this event is the Institute for Prostate Cancer Research (IPCR), a collaboration of UW Medicine and Fred Hutch. The IPCR is consistently ranked a top cancer research center and is on the forefront of using genetic sequencing to diagnose and treat prostate cancer. The IPCR is putting the funds raised towards the Act Smart Initiative.  This is a multi-year, multi-million dollar campaign to pioneer precision medicine in the Northwest. SCCA Proton Therapy Center is dedicated to supporting the community in the fight against cancer, and is excited to support the IPCR and the Survivors Celebration Breakfast in their quest to end prostate cancer.
