You Play One Of The Most Vital Roles In Patient Care.
We know how hard it can be to care for a loved one with cancer. Our Concierge team is happy to help you find resources in your efforts to provide care. Please call them at (206) 306-2028. We also offer ways to connect with other patients, as well as with survivors. Our Patient Resources page on this website has many resources that might help you, too.
Our partner, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, has a Patient & Family Resource Center that includes information on different types of cancers, treatments, coping with cancer, supportive care, and survivorship issues. It also features a community bulletin board with information on lectures, classes and support groups, a lending library, computer workstations, Internet connection, fax machine, copier and printer.
In addition, Seattle Children’s has a Family Resource Center with reference materials on children’s health, specific conditions, parenting, growth and development, grief and loss, and safety. It also features parent massage, a vending area with free coffee and hot beverages, computer workstations for e-mail and Internet access, laundry, and parent sleeping rooms for intensive care parents.
If your loved one’s medical team has recommended proton therapy and you live outside the Seattle area, we realize you will likely be assisting in the planning associated with traveling for treatment. SCCA Proton Therapy Center has a Concierge Team available to provide you with details on housing and transportation, answer questions about the area and provide other personalized assistance as needed.
On our Caregivers Frequently Asked Questions page you will find answers to questions such as “How should I act?” and “What if I can’t cope?”
