Dr. Parvathaneni is board certified in radiation oncology in Australia and the United States. He is the Head of the Head-and-Neck Radiation Oncology Program and an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington. He specializes in the treatment of Head and Neck cancers, Merkel cell cancers, complex skin cancers, melanomas, salivary gland tumors, rare malignancies, and re-irradiation. He has expertise in proton therapy, IMRT, neutron therapy, IORT and IGRT.
Dr. Parvathaneni earned his medical degree and completed his residency in radiation oncology at Annamalai University in India, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, and completed an advanced radiation oncology fellowship in Head and Neck cancers at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. There he received specialized training in complex technologies including IMRT and proton therapy.
Dr. Parvathaneni’s research interests focus on Merkel cell cancers, head and neck cancers, and newer treatment modalities and techniques such as proton therapy.
