Breast Cancer

Dr. Fang is a board-certified radiation oncologist with expertise in proton therapy who specializes in breast cancer. She is also an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington.

Dr. Fang earned her medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Washington. She then went on to complete her fellowship in proton therapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Fang’s current research interest is novel radiation techniques to minimize radiation-induced side effects for breast cancer. She is also investigating aspects of the treatment process that affect the patient’s quality of life, and advancements that lead to improving quality of life. She is the site principal investigator of a multi-institutional randomized trial comparing proton therapy with conventional therapy for breast cancer. 

Dr. Fang was awarded the Athena Endowed Award for Excellence in Breast Cancer Research.
